Car recall

I received an email from my father last night notifying me of a safety recall on my 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Now, I felt the need to explore this further to see just what was so unsafe about my car. Exploration on the internet led me to a site explaining the problem: a defect in the steering knuckle.
"A BROKEN STEERING KNUCKLE COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING."

A crash without warning, huh? I didn't know you had warning for other crashes. I know there are crazy drivers out there, but if we had warning for crashes I feel like there should be a lot less out there. My thought would be "Well, I was warned I would crash today, maybe I should stay off the road."

Well, I sure had a good chuckle when I read the recall, but now I actually have to do something about it. Good thing it's free!

Mark, the name given to my car in high school, is my first car. Though I had to wait for my brother to go through three cars before I got one, I love him, and I'm glad I waited. He has a little extra blessing coming from a priest, and he has been with me through some crazy times: flat tire at my brother's wedding, vomit in the front seat, the front seat flooding in the rain, having the entire car filled with fire wood, countless amounts of furniture loosely secured on the roof, and the list goes on...Hey, he even saved my glasses from being run over, thanks to his vanity spoiler!
I learned how to change oil, tires, and breaks on my car, and he has never failed inspection, so I want to keep him around forever.
I will be sure to get his steering fixed, I don't need a crash, especially without warning!

I'm a grownup!

Who am I kidding? I'm not sure I'll ever truly be a grownup, but I am an adult! What's the difference you ask? I don't know, but "grownup" sounds a lot less fun!

Anyway, I am an official graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Theatre Arts! Now I can officially manage those crazy little people called actors, and maybe make some money doing it.

Now that it has been a week and a half, I think I'm passed the official "freak out" stage and I'm into the "man, this real world stuff is cool" stage. I know it wont last long, as I'm already learning that money doesn't grow on trees, but this is a great feeling, mainly because I don't have to do homework anymore!

Scott: Congrats on your graduation!!!!
Theresa: Thanks! This real world thing isn't so bad so far!
Scott: That is cause you are still in the newbie phase, give it time......

I no longer get asked those stupid pre-graduation questions that freak out any soon-to-be grad: "So, what are your plans after graduation?" "Do you have a job lined up?" "How about health insurance?" Yes, I appreciate the concerns of family and friends, but when you're asked the same questions five times a day, it eats at you a little. But, I'm past that stage. I have a job that pays my bills, and I have health insurance. The life plan thing is still up in the air, but that's what is exciting, and makes life an adventure. I can't have all the answers now, I'm only 21!!

Well, I still have high hopes, and I'm still excited for the new phase of life. I know not to get to excited, but I also know that I do I've got parents and friends to pull me back down to earth.

So, I'm gonna fasten my seat belt for the next phase of life, and hope that I never have to do homework again!
