Big Baby

It's no question I'm a big kid. I like to say I have a simple mind and a big heart. I take pleasure in the small things and try to just have fun in all life's adventures. Who would have known I'm also a big baby? (no wise cracks on sucking my thumb, family!)

Recently, I was given the task of making favors for my sister-in-law's baby shower. It seemed like a daunting task, but I was excited nonetheless. I got to bring out my creative side and make something people would keep for some time to come. After much deliberation and walks through the craft store, I decided upon baby food candles! It was cheap, creative, and useful! How could I lose?

Now, I'm not big on wasting food. There is no question I love to eat, and I will always try to use all the food I have before throwing it away (with the exception of corn and raisins). With this task of baby food candles, I had 24 jars of baby food on my hands. Yes it's pureed, but it's still food! What was I going to do?

Only what the big kid inside of me would do...

Have a baby food eating extravaganza!
I got together with some friends and we tried 12 different types of baby food and while eating we tried to guess what each pureed food was.

I now know why kids hate vegetables. Even though the ingredients said peas and water, it certainly did NOT taste like peas. I guess it made me thankful for the teeth I have and the ability to chew my own vegitables.

So now I can say I guess I'm a big baby too.

Fail

From time to time I have fail moments. Sometimes those fail moments are too silly to not share.

This weeks fail: eating windshield washer fluid.
When you're scrapping ice off a car that is not your own, look at where the wiper button or lever is before you just reach inside the car and turn them on. Better yet, get inside the car before turning the wipers on or you might just end up with a face full of windshield washer fluid. I've used my fair share of face and mouth washes, and wiper fluid rates on the lower end.

Banana Thief

I signed a lease to my new apartment last week, but for the past three weeks, and until I can finally move my things into the apartment, I have been living with my siblings. My brother and sister-in-law graciously opened their home to me for a place to stay while I transition to Harrisonburg. My brother has the coolest electronics on the planet, and my sister-in-law makes the best food. So to be quiet straight forward, I'm in heaven.

Not only does she make great food, she also steals great food. I came home from work one day to a note left on the kitchen counter...Though she felt a little guilty, she knew she could always pass it off on Gastropod (aka the child inside of her.)Well Caroline, I have news for you...you wont be pregnant forever and the "baby did it" excuse wont work forever.
I thought it was pretty hilarious, but I had to get a picture so I can forever hold it over her head...It might go something like this...
"Hey Caroline...remember that time when you STOLE my banana?!?"

A New Chapter

I have been away from blogging for quite some time now and though I could give you a million reasons why I have neglected writing, most of them would come right back to me being...well, lazy.

BUT, a lot has changed since I have been away, and I have finally started a new chapter in my life adventure!

I never want to wake up in the morning and dread going to work. I never want to think that my life has no purpose, and I never want to be unhappy. God put me here, so I should do something with the life I was given and make the best out of every adventure whether good or bad. Unfortunately, I went through a point the past few months where I was unhappy. I dreaded going to work and I started to question what the heck I was doing with my life. Long story short, I was ready for a change.

AND...that change finally came! I got a new job, I packed up my things and moved out of town, and I started anew. I have a place to call my own, I'm closer to family, and most of all, I'm happy, just plain happy.

So, without further ado, let me show you some of the happiness that has entered my life in the past few weeks via my new job...

I work at Rosetta Stone. That's right, the language learning software...you know, the one Michael Phelps used before winning the gold in the last Olympics? You know, the big yellow boxes you see plastered all over the airports? Yeah, I work for them. And so far, I LOVE it.
This is the awesome building I work in. Used to be an old seed warehouse. Definitly adds character.

Oh...and before I go any further, I would like to clarify that I do not speak any cool languages other than English and I am not the voice of Rosetta Stone. What do I do, you ask? I work in the HR department. I know, not as cool, but it's cool to me, and fits me pretty well.

I get my own desk! I'm moving up in the world! AND, there are not one, but TWO windows in our office!

Check out that cool kitchen! What's so fancy about a kitchen at work?

well not much except...
FREE DRINKS! All the soda, juices, yohoo, and bottled water you can drink! Did I mention I'm simple minded?

Oh and one final fun thing...

FREE BAGEL FRIDAY!

Thanks for taking the tour of my new work, and here's to the awesome adventures that will be in my new life chapter!
